The Safe Streets for Tamaqua's Little Feets group is hoping to shine a light on the growing problem of drug addiction by hosting a candlelight walk this evening.

The "Overdose Awareness Candle Light Walk" will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Bungalow Park on Catawissa Street.Walkers will then head east, traveling Broad Street until reaching the former CVS parking lot at the east end of town. No preregistration is required.Organizers will provide candles, refreshments and educational material while offering support and compassion to those whose lives have been affected, in any way, by drug abuse.They hope to draw attention to the growing addiction epidemic and the community's efforts to deal with the issues.Participants are encouraged to wear or carry a photo of a loved one who has been lost to drug addiction.For more information, call 570-527-9277 or 570-952-1042.
