A Lehighton man who fled a traffic stop on foot only to be apprehended at a later time entered a guilty plea on Thursday in Carbon County court.
Lawney L. Strohl, 47, pleaded to one count each of escape and driving under suspension - DUI related.Strohl was stopped by state police at Lehighton on May 22 in the 300 block of White Street in Weissport for a violation. As the trooper was checking his driving record, Strohl fled on foot into nearby woods. He was later found.In a plea bargain with the district attorney's office, 10 other summary counts were dropped.Judge Steven R. Serfass deferred sentencing because Strohl has another criminal matter pending.
