Funeral services have been set for the man killed in the Franklin Township fire Friday night.
William P. Evans, 80, of Lehighton, died at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest.
He was the husband of Eleanor (Barno) Evans. They celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary in December of last year.
Born in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of the late Thomas and Sara (Smith) Evans. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator by A 1 Construction Company until retiring. He was a member of the Sportsman's Rod and Gun Club, Andreas. He was of the Lutheran Faith. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, and carving bears but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife is a daughter Barbara Harrington of Tampa, FL; sons William Jr. of Lehighton, Charles and Andrew of Tampa, FL, and David and his wife Melissa (Simmons) of Lehighton; brothers Richard Evans and his wife Dorothy, Jack Evans, and James Evans all of Wilkes Barre; grandchildren William Salfelder, Andrew Evans, Ethan Evans, and Crystal Evans.
He was also preceded in death by a sister Margaret Filipkowski and brothers Ralph and Thomas.
A Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning with the Rev. Ken Melber officiating. Interment will be held privately in Franklin Heights Cemetery, Weissport. Call Friday 3-6 p.m. in the funeral home.
