A Tamaqua woman was sentenced to a Carbon County prison term on Tuesday afternoon on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Leslie Ann Napolitano, 26, was sentenced by Judge Joseph J. Matika to serve three to one day less 24 months in prison with credit for 88 days already served. The proceeding was actually a "resentencing" for Napolitano. She was previously placed in the state's Intermediate Punishment program but was expelled from it after putting in 22 of 24 months for violating the rules.In a plea bargain other drug counts were dropped.Napolitano was arrested by agents of the state Attorney General's office for selling four morphine tablets to an undercover agent. The sale occurred on July 19, 2012, in the area of 13 N. Walnut St., in Lansford.She was also placed in the state program by Schuylkill County court on similar charges. That county has not acted yet on her being expelled from the program.Napolitano told Matika she didn't realize how bad her drug addiction was until she was placed in the state program. She said because of what she has learned from the program, she knows how to handle any potential relapses she might face in the future.In addition to the prison term, Matika ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and supply a DNA sample.It was noted she must return to Schuylkill County for resentencing on the drug counts in that county.
