Community meal
A free community meal will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday.All are invited.Al-Anon groupsAl-Anon Family Groups meet at different locations in the Palmerton area. From 3-6 p.m. entertainment will be by Prat Cat, and Jesse Wade will play from 7-10 p.m. Activities include cake raffle, Chinese auction, face painting and games, plus a main ticket drawing of cash prizes and door prizes. Food will be available for purchase and the Boy Scouts will have homemade peach cobbler and ice cream. Bring a lawn chair.LibraryThe Friends of the Palmerton Area Library will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesdayat the library. The public is welcome.Park concertThis week's Sunday evening concert in the Palmerton Borough Park will be by The Large Flowerheads. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the park bandstand and is sponsored by Pencor and the Concourse Club. Bring a lawn chair. There is no smoking in the park. In inclement weather the committee reserves the right to cancel the concert. There are no rain dates.
