Man rescued after seizure in the area of Glen Onoko

A man was rescued after he suffered a seizure that caused him to fall Sunday afternoon in the Glen Onoko area of Lehigh Gorge State Park.

Firefighters from the Jim Thorpe Fire Department were dispatched to the scene at 2:45 p.m., according to borough Fire Chief Bill Diehm.Diehm said rescue crews were able to get the man off the trail, and he was then taken away by ambulance."The only difficulty was locating him because we were getting different reports where he was," Diehm said.Diehm said three rescue teams were part of the search that split up on the mountain.Also assisting at the scene were the Lehighton, Penn Forest No. 1, Nesquehoning, Summit Hill, and Lehigh and Lausanne fire departments, as well as Lehighton EMS, Lehighton fire police, and DCNR park rangers, he said.
