A total of five defendants entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday to driving under the influence charges.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted pleas from the following:Peter Andre Franck, 32, of Tobyhanna, pleaded to two counts of DUI. He was arrested on the first count on May 3, 2015, by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. A test showed 0.29 BAC. The second arrest occurred on Aug. 30, 2015, along Route 902 by Summit Hill police. A test showed 0.15 BAC.On the first count he was sentenced to serve 30 days to six months in jail, a fine of $750, and one-year license suspension. On the second count he was sentenced to serve 40 days to 24 months in jail, a fine of $500 and another year suspension. The prison terms run concurrently. He must also render a total of 75 hours of community service when he completes the prison term.He will begin the jail term at noon, Sundayand serve it on consecutive three-day increments of Saturday through Tuesday.Monica Lynn Walck, 28, of Summit Hill was arrested by state police at Lehighton on Sept. 26, 2014, on Maury Road, Franklin Township, during a checkpoint operation. She was previously placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.Serfass sentenced her to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.She was given credit for 34 days spent in jail on the charge and paroled.Luis Ernesto Colon, 26, of Lansford, was arrested on March 25 in the 100 block of East Alley in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.Cory Scott Coons, 28, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Feb. 20 by state police at Fern Ridge along Route 903 near Fawn Road in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a D&A evaluation.Joseph John Bulvich Jr., 48, of Northampton, was arrested on March 22 along Route 895 in Bowmanstown by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He also pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.Sentencing was deferred.The defendants that were sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
