NORTHERN LEHIGH SCHOOL BOARD

Northern Lehigh School Board recently approved:

• An agreement for the CLIU Overdrive Consortium for the 2016-17 school year to provide e-books, audiobooks, and other digital content at a cost of $2,167.• An agreement with Blackboard Connect for a School to Parent communication system at a yearly cost of $2,736, no increase from last year.• Tori Csanadi as student representative to the board for the 2016-17 school year. She has been appointed as the junior representative to the board and will serve from September 2016 through June 2017. Karlyna Kemery will serve as the senior student representative to the board until June 2017.• Permission for Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor to use the high school gym and district's parking lot facilities on Nov. 6 for the D & L Heritage Half Marathon Run and Walk.• Senior high yearbook club will attend the yearbook educational camp at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, from July 24-26, with the cost of registration and lodging for three students, $900, and one adviser, $250; and the cost of travel $134 for one adviser; for a total cost of about $1,284, to be funded from the senior high yearbook club.• Susan Bahnick will attend the PA School Nutrition Programs Conference from July 31-Aug. 3, at The Hershey Lodge, Hershey, at a cost of about $136, to be funded from the food services budget.• Insurance coverage for the 2016-17 school year to the following: Commercial Package and Automobile (vehicle liability, general liability property insurance and boiler and machinery) Graphic Arts (UTICA), National Insurance Company, at a cost of $79,076, a $1,631 increase over last year's rate; Commercial Umbrella Liability Insurances, North River Insurance Company, $17,848, a $530 increase over last year's rate; and School Leaders Error and Omissions Liability, National Union Fire Insurance Company, $30,598, with no premium increase from last year's rates.• Appointed School District's Insurance Consortium as the district's Workers' Compensation carrier for the 2016-17 school year at an estimated premium of $79,119, a reduction of about $12,474; final cost is based on payroll figures.
