The Lehighton 150th Anniversary Celebration Committee's Coaster Race was just one highlight of the borough's eight-day celebration.
The race started at North Second Street and continue downhill to the North Street finish line at the borough municipal building.The coaster race was originally run in the borough in 1923.Winners were:Derby, ages 8-11: first, Nathan Steinmetz; second, Angelina Fisher, and third, Emma Repsher.Derby, ages 12-15: first, Andrew Conrad; second, Angelina Remito; third, Tate Sharrow.Jalopy, ages 8-11: first, Ethan Heiser; second, Joseph Roth.Jalopy, ages 12-15; first, Tret Solt; second, Madison Lutsko; third, Grant Rimbey.Jalopy, ages 16-18; first, Ezra Neff; and second, Matthew Eckhart
