St. Luke's earns distinguished honor

St. Luke's University and Allentown campuses earned the designation of Centers of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology by the AAGL and Surgical Review Corporation.

Gynecologic surgeons Michael Patriarco and Vincent Lucente have earned the honor as well.COEMIG honors surgeons and practices "that demonstrate the commitment and ability to consistently deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care." The program is set up "to help minimally invasive gynecologic surgery providers continuously improve care quality and patient safety."Hospitals and surgeons can earn this designation by participating in a challenging evaluation period, by meeting several qualifications for safe gynecologic care.The evaluation includes the surgical process and patient results.The designation is given to a practice and its surgeons who complete this process.
