Lehighton OKs purchases

Lehighton Borough Council this week approved equipment purchases that total just shy of $400,000.

A 2016 Versalift material loading bucket truck was approved in the amount of $205,148, as was the purchase and financing of a Mack granite axle back chassis for dump/plow to the tune of $176,335.In other action, council approved:• Intergovernmental Agreement for the Connectivity Project after it heard from Dennis Demara, of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.• A proposal provided by Dalton Lorah for the Fourth and Bridge street sewer projects in the amount of $10,200 with the borough purchasing materials.• A change order in the amount of $7,000 to apply sealer to bluestone pavers.• Conditional approval to the subdivision/boundary line agreement for the Lehighton Sewerage Authority, based on the recommendation of the Carbon County Planning Commission.• Sending officer Matt Bender to Camp Cadet.• Hired Hilbert Haas as a substitute crossing guard pending pre-employment physical and screenings.• Approved the Lehighton Takedown Club's annual car show around the Lower Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 21.
