Highway Headquarters Moved to Lehighton

November 24, 1933

The entire Carbon County unit of the State Highway Department is now housed in the fine new plant at Ninth and Bridge streets, Lehighton, recently built and owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The plant has not yet been completed, and the office force is somewhat on a "makeshift" schedule. The huge garage, however, is finished and amply accommodates the road building and other machinery, trucks, autos and road building tools.County Superintendent Blaugh and his force are quite happy in their quarters and patiently await completion of the office building proper.
