Carbon County Friends of Animals are getting ready for its annual fundraiser, Rockin' Rescue.

The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 9, will be held at a new location this year.Kimmy Mulik, board member of CCFOA, announced that this year's musical event will take place at The Grove, located at South Seventh and Iron streets in Lehighton.Rockin' Rescue brings together animal care education and resources for a day full of music, car shows, food and family fun. All proceeds from the event benefit CCFOA's animal cruelty fund and the shelter.The day includes entertainment by Senile Delinquents at 11 a.m.; Bees Knees at 1; Off R Rockers at 3 p.m.; Waiting for Katie at 5 p.m. and Bugsy's Evolution Band at 7 p.m.A car show, hosted by the Palmerton Pace-Makers Association, will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.There will also be a rabies, microchipping and distemper clinic, hosted by the Pleasant Valley Veterinary Hospital, from 10 a.m. to noon.In addition to events, animal rescues and shelters will have pets available for adoption, as well as information on how to help animals. There will also be a raffle drawing, bake sale, crafters, pet nail clipping and ear cleaning stand, flea market and yard sale and food from local organizations and businesses.CCFOA is currently collecting donations for its Chinese auction.
