Carbon radio club hosting field day

The Carbon County Amateur Radio Club will host a 24-hour HAM field day today and Sunday at 896 Lower Nis Hollow Drive in Lehighton.

Eric Bott, a member of the club says the field day is "helpful for HAMS in an emergency to prepare if something were to happen and can talk across the country and world."Radio clubs all over the country will be participating in similar events. They will be prepping for an emergency and want the most hands as possible operating on a generator, solar power, etc. They will go out and put up temporary antennas. The Carbon County club has members based in Palmerton, Jim Thorpe and the surrounding areas.
