Man taken to hospital after foot gets stuck in city sinkhole

ALLLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man was taken to a hospital after he stepped into a sinkhole on a street in an eastern Pennsylvania city.

Allentown fire department officials said the man was walking early Wednesday when his foot broke through and became stuck in the hole.Capt. John Christopher said he was freed by city firefighters and was taken to a nearby hospital for observation, although he wasn't badly hurt.The city streets department responded to deal with the hole, which Christopher described as narrow but fairly deep.
