Matika.Silliman was charged by Nesquehoning police with having heroin in the prison on Feb. 24.Defense Attorney Gregory Lee Mousseau, of the public defender's office, said his client wanted a state prison term imposed because he feels the state system has the best programs to help him with his drug addiction problem.Silliman told Matika, "My whole criminal record is from my drug addiction."Matika agreed that the state has programs to address such drug issues, while the county prison has limited help for drug and other addictions.Matika sentenced Silliman to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution, and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and pay court costs of about $1,000.He was given credit for 120 days already spent in prison on the charge.
