N. Lehigh extends contract for business managers
Northern Lehigh School District has approved a four-year extension for its dual business managers.
On an 8-1 vote, the school board this week approved the extension, effective July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2020.Director Mathias Green voted no.The contract is for both Sherri Molitoris, co-director of business affairs/human resources, and Rhonda Frantz, co-director of business affairs/employee payroll and benefits.The base salary for both Molitoris and Frantz for this coming school year is $75,692, and the percentage of increase they will receive is based on their end-of-year evaluation.Both women have split business administration duties since September 2011.Special educationThe board approved to conduct an extended school year program for special education students in the district.The board agreed to employ several teachers, instructional assistants and nurses for the program.Appointed were: Ryan Stillwell and Everly Kesack, teachers, $30 per hour; Andrea Thomson, instructional assistant, $14.48 per hour; Stephanie Stillwell and Kathryn Showak, instructional assistants, $13.78 per hour; Amanda Grozier, instructional assistant, $11.79 per hour; Heather Kuntz, instructional assistant, $12.82 per hour; Tara Hengst, instructional assistant, $13.90 per hour, all for three hours per day, from July 11-28; and Tracy Hoffman, nurse, $30 per hour, three hours per day from July 11-15, July 20-21 and July 25-28; and Dawn Tulio, nurse, $20.66 per hour, three hours per day, July 18-19.Other businessThe board approved:• An agreement between the district and KRE Security/Investigations Inc., for providing web-based applications for planning, reporting, monitoring and arching student data in compliance with federal and state-mandated regulations. The cost for these services will be $11,200 for the 2016-17 school year, and $2,800 per year for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.• A partnership agreement with Lehigh Carbon Community College to provide students with greater options to earn concurrent high school/college credit from Aug. 19, 2016, through June 30, 2017.• The final agreement with CLIU 21 for Title I Services for the 2015-16 school year in the amount of $4,162.• A contract with the Carbon-Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 for the eLearn 21 Virtual Learning Program partnership beginning July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2018.• An agreement between the district and the CLIU 21 to continue the Student Driver Education Program at no cost to the district, effective July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017.
