Tombstone symbols

The Monday meeting of the Palmerton Area Historical Society will be at the Little White Church, Third Street and Columbia Avenue, where Tammy Schane will discuss the meaning of tombstone symbols. The meeting begins at 7 p.m., and is open to the public.Bring your lawn chairs. If the weather is good, the meeting will be held outdoors.Church tourThe Palmerton Area Historical Society has arranged an open church tour of St. George Russian Orthodox Church, 730 Church St., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 18. The public is invited.The church building is being offered for sale; all interior furnishings are still in place. The Arch Priest Father Vincent Saverino of Philadelphia will be present.In addition to on-street parking, those attending may use the parking space behind St. Peter and Paul's Church.
