NJ man gets jail for DUI

A New Jersey man was sentenced to a Carbon County prison term on a driving under the influence charge.

John M. Przewoznik, 36, of Phillipsburg, formerly of Lansford, was sentenced by Judge Joseph J. Matika to serve 60 days to six months in prison. He previously pleaded to the charge.He was arrested on Oct. 13, 2013, by Nesquehoning police along Route 209. A test showed 0.23 BAC.He was also ordered to pay a fine of $300, license suspended for a year, render 25 hours of community service after the jail term is completed, zero tolerance for alcohol use, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole.He is currently in prison on the charge and was given credit for 28 days already served. It was also noted he has a detainer on him filed by Northampton County authorities.
