Update: Coroner, rescue crews called to Glen Onoko

Emergency crews were called to Glen Onoko Falls in Jim Thorpe around 12:15 p.m. after two people fell, according to scanner reports.

One of the individuals remains unresponsive with bleeding from the head, while a second person is responsive but dealing with serious leg injuries.

The coroner has been called to the scene, as well as fire personnel from fire companies including Jim Thorpe, Lehigh & Lausanne, Penn Forest and Lehighton.

Dispatchers said that the incident occurred at the tallest set of waterfalls in the park, known as the second falls.

A firefighter is being transported to the emergency room with a knee injury.

Glen Onoko is a beautiful but treacherous destination that attracts hikers from as far as New York and Philadelphia. A sign at the base of the falls says "Hikers have been seriously injured and killed as a result of accidental falls from the trail and gorge overlooks"

While no official count is kept, at least nine people have died at the falls since 1977, according to a 2014 Times News article.
