Gypsy auditions
As soon as the Tamaqua Area Community Theatre finishes presenting its production of "Cinderella - Retold as a Musical," the group will start on its next production, "Gypsy."Auditions will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sundayand from 6-9 p.m. Mondayat the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St. Speaking, singing and dancing roles will be available. Cast members ages 6 and older are needed. Tap/jazz shoes will be required.Crew members are also needed.The musical production will be performed at the art center on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6."Cinderella" will be presented at 7 p.m. Fridayand at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday.For more information, call 570-668-1192.Hunger walkLast weekend's Hunger Walk to benefit Tamaqua's three food pantries was rescheduled due to the weather.The event will be held this Sunday. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. in the Tamaqua Family Practice parking lot on South Railroad Street. The walk will begin at 2 p.m.Registration forms are also available at
www.taffn.org.St. Peter's UnionSunday worship services in St. Peter's Union Church in Mantzville are held at 9 a.m. Sunday school classes will meet at 10:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, Cub and Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m.Next week's activities include: Monday, rescheduled church board meeting at 6 p.m., graduation for 4-year preschoolers at 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, preschool moving up ceremony for 3-year-olds at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday, senior choir rehearses at 7:30 p.m.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 29 at Zion's Stone Church.Zion LewistownPastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church of the Lewistown Valley. The service will include graduation ceremonies for the 3-year class of Valley Christian School and will be followed by a social hour.
