Wednesday morning the Penn Forest Township Supervisors held a special meeting to appoint Roger Meckes to the vacant supervisor's position.

Meckes is a lifelong resident of the township and the only person to express interest in the position which was left vacant with the resignation of Vice Chairman Phillip Schedaker.Meckes is a builder with Meckes Building and Excavating."I have lived here all my life," said Meckes. "This is something new."Meckes will be sworn in prior to the next supervisor's meeting which will take place at 7 p.m. June 6.
