Two Carbon County women entered guilty pleas on Thursday in the county court to drug charges.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas.Vice arrestPamela Lynn Bowman, 39, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance - oxycodone.She was arrested by members of the vice unit of the state police at Hazleton at her then residence along N. First Street in Lehighton.Troopers found 10 oxycodone tablets in her possession.In exchange for the pleas the district attorney's office agreed to drop two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility.Serfass deferred sentencing.Vehicle stopsJocelyn Marie Cain, 21, of Lehighton, pleaded to two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia in two pending cases,t resulting from vehicle stops.State police at Lehighton stopped a vehicle on Oct. 19, 2015, in the area of routes 209 and 443 in Lehighton. Cain was a passenger in the vehicle. She was found in possession of drug paraphernalia. A charge of possession of a controlled substance was dropped in a plea bargain.Mahoning Township police stopped a vehicle on Nov. 23, 2015, along Jamestown Street.Cain was a passenger in that vehicle and she was found with drug paraphernalia. It was the only charge filed.Serfass said, "It's remarkable that the facts in both cases are so similar."Serfass placed her on probation for a year on each count, running consecutively, and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation, and render a total of 100 hours of community service.
