It was nice to see."Pedersen started strong, striking out the first two batters of the game.Despite finishing with 11 punch-outs, Pedersen admitted to not feeling her best before she got in the circle."When I first went out and I was throwing my five warm-up pitches, I thought, 'I don't feel right today. I don't feel exactly as good as I usually do,'" she said. "But then I just found my groove afterward."I'm extremely skeptical, so I just kept telling myself to get the next out and not get too overconfident or too comfortable."Pedersen was backed by flawless fielding. The defense came up big in the top of the fourth when Cailyn Joseph robbed Blue Mountain's Jordan Skoff of what looked to be a home run, going up against the fence to bring the ball back and end the inning."I definitely have to thank Cailyn, she definitely saved me with that one," Pedersen said.Joseph (2-for-3, single, double) also opened the scoring for Tamaqua, bringing in Lynn Kistler with a sacrifice fly that also scored Courtney Hoffman (2-for-3, single, double) to give the Lady Raiders a 2-0 lead after the first inning.Tamaqua broke it open in the second, scoring five runs, as Joseph capped the inning with a two-run single that scored Hoffman and Brooke Zellner to make it 7-0.Miranda Chinchar's (2-for-4, single, double) RBI double in the fourth scored Hoffman and made it 8-0.Joseph collected her fourth RBI in the sixth inning when she drove in Abby Machay with double before Pedersen (3-for-4) ended it with a single to score Joseph.Madison Davis had an RBI groundout in the second and finished 2-for-3.While disappointed with the loss, Blue Mountain coach Gerry Kresge acknowledged his team faced a pitcher that was simply on top of her game."That was an excellent, well-pitched game," Kresge said.
