A Carbon County man admitted in the county court Monday to driving drunk with two young girls in his vehicle.

Jeffrey James Malloy, 30, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded in two pending cases, both driving under the influence, before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.Malloy was arrested on May 8, 2015, along Interchange Road (Route 209) by Franklin Township police. Police responded to the area for a report of a vehicle off the road with damages. Police found Malloy's vehicle with a flat tire. Police also said Malloy was under the influence and they found two girls, then ages 2 and 4, in the vehicle. Taken for a test, the result showed the presence of a controlled substance.The second arrest occurred on Feb. 21, 2015, along Stoney Creek Road in Penn Forest Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.Nanovic deferred sentencing because Malloy needs to get a drug and alcohol evaluation. The defendant also said he is attempting to get into a inpatient rehabilitation program.
