Pennsylvania's Democratic Party's Political Director, Mitch Kates of Pittsburgh, presented a countywide political workshop at the Democratic Information Center, 182 S. First St., Lehighton, sponsored by the Lehighton Area Democratic Club and the Carbon County Democratic Committee's Executive Board on March 31.

Kates most recently served as campaign manager for David Wecht's successful 2015 State Supreme Court campaign. Before that he worked as a Democratic consultant in Tampa, Florida, and also spent 2012 living in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia, where he managed a winning campaign against the sitting prime minister.For more information about activities of the Democratic Information Center, contact Sandi Peters at 610-826-6635.
