The Weatherly Area High School Alumni Association's board of directors met March 17 at the Weatherly Middle School.

The meeting was chaired by President Todd Gimbi. The 11 in attendanceheld a moment of silence in remembrance of Lois Holman and Bernard Simkovich. Minutes from the January meeting were read by Yvonne Felker and approved.The treasurer's report was also reviewed and approved. The $40,000 has been invested with ING. The finance committee is still looking for another member.Anyone interested should contact Gimbi. There are currently 616 paid members.The Memorial Day dinner will be held May 30. Tickets are $13 and the menu will be the same as previous years. Felker will schedule a Memorial Day Dinner Committee meeting. The banners should be ready to go up on the bridge by April 15.Bette Rambaran, chairwoman of the scholarship committee saidshe is currently working on scheduling dates for this year's scholarship application evaluation.A thank-you note was received from Barbara Sipler, Title I coordinator at Weatherly Area Elementary School, for the donation toward Read Across America book purchases in the school.The next board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. June 16 in the social room of the First Presbyterian Church on Spring Street in Weatherly.
