Defendants scheduled for trial Monday in Carbon County court who entered guilty pleas before Judge Joseph J. Matika included:

Glenn C. Schoch, 51, of Hazleton, and formerly of McAdoo, pleaded to one count each of escape and driving under suspension-DUI related.He was arrested on June 13, 2015, by Beaver Meadows police. Police observed him driving along Board Street and knew his license was under suspension. A stop was made and Schoch left his vehicle and ran from the scene into a nearby wooded area. He was later found and arrested.Matika deferred sentencing to a later date.Marc Joseph Digilio, 29, of Johnstown, Cambria County, pleaded to one count each of criminal trespass and theft, both felonies.He was charged by Nesquehoning police for an incident on March 12, 2014, when a home in the borough was entered and electronic devices and jewelry were removed. He admitted selling the items at a pawnshop.The victimtold the court that the incident changed her life and the feeling of safety in her home.Digilio, facing the victim, said, "I'm truly sorry. It was due to my addiction."It was noted that Digilio has a pending case in Cambria County.Matika deferred sentencing.James John Peterson, 61, of Albrightsville, pleaded to one count of driving under the influence. He was arrested on April 17, 2015, by state police in Penn Forest Township. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Matika sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and he must render 25 hours of community service. He began the jail term immediately.Kerry Lee Freedman, 40, of Catasauqua, formerly of Coaldale, pleaded to two summary counts of disorderly conduct that were added to the original complaint. In exchange for the plea the district attorney's office dropped two counts of DUI of a controlled substance and two drug charges.He was arrested on Aug. 14, 2015, along Mauch Chunk Street by Mahoning Township police.Matika imposed a total of $300 in fines.The defendants sentenced must pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee if on probation or parole.
