The Carbon Commissioners acted on the following items:

• Appoint Helen Torok of Lehighton Borough Council as the elected official representative for the Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services board of directors.• Approve an addendum to the agreement with Keystone Engineering Group of Malvern for additional design and construction management for the railroad station project. The project calls for upgrading the electrical and fire alarm systems at the station. The contract now increases $2,000 to $27,500.• Approve the hiring of Michael D. Cutler of Coaldale as part-time senior center operator I, Area Agency on Aging, effective April 11.• Approve the change of status of Michelle L. Miller of Lehighton from clerical specialist, Clerk of Courts to chief real estate clerk, Sheriff's Office, effective April 11.• Commissioner Thomas J. Gerhard also publicly thanked Jason Shellhammer and the staff of the county

G.I.S. department for his dedication to helping the community. The county received a letter from Jim Nelson, president of Sunrise Ridge Property Owners Association in Penn Forest Township, thanking Shellhammer for his help with mapping services.
