Panther Valley School District has received unofficial permission from the state to construct a new junior-senior high school.
Superintendent Francis Dolan said verbal permission was given by Dr. Cortez Fiske of the Department of Public Instruction during a conference in Harrisburg.Dolan said the official word should be forthcoming from the proper state officials. In line with this, board members agreed not to take any formal action on the school until official confirmation is received.R. Newton Davenport, Carbon County superintendent of schools, was in Harrisburg today and was asked to contact the DPI officials regarding the letter. He and Dolan were joined in attending the conference by directors Joseph Fiorentino and Paul Sheers.
