Details for a proposed bridge replacement project in Tamaqua will be on display Tuesday.

A presentation on the replacement of the West Broad Street Bridge over the Wabash Creek will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Salvation Army of Tamaqua, 105 W. Broad St.The bridge plans will be on display from 6-7 p.m.The purpose of the presentation is for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to update the public and local communities on the project design, as well as the results of recent environmental studies related to the project, and will consist of a brief presentation utilizing display boards to show the different facets of the project.On behalf of the Federal Highway Administration, PennDOT will welcome comments from residents and organizations who are interested in the identification of historic resources, as well as the determination of the effect that the project may have on those resources.The project will result in improvements to the hidden, single-span, stone-arch bridge over the Wabash Creek.The project is expected to go out to bid in the fall, and the work is tentatively set to begin in 2018.
