Beltzville Lions will host a volunteer day along the Lehigh Canal towpath on April 9. All age groups are invited, including Scouts or anyone needing community service.

Call Tom at 610-704-6651 or Gail at 610-533-9311 to register. Volunteers should arrive at the Weissport trailhead at 8:30 a.m. for coffee, doughnuts, orientation and a work assignment. A free lunch will be offered at noon. Work will conclude at 2 p.m.

Work will center on the towpath from Weissport toward Parryville. A big part of the day will involve picking up branches and litter.

Workers should bring their own gloves. Large equipment, shovels, saws and pruners are needed.
