A Monroe County man and woman face a number of charges for an incident that occurred earlier this month.

Brittany Leah Beers, 19, of Stroudsburg, and Wali Nathaniel Henderson, 28, of Long Pond, are scheduled to have preliminary hearings at 10 a.m. Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Richard Claypool, of Pocono Pines.Beers and Henderson were both charged with robbery,criminal conspiracy to commit robbery,criminal use of communication facility,all felonies, and possession of instrument of crimes,terroristic threats,theft by unlawful taking or disposition,receiving stolen property,and simple assault, all misdemeanors.Beers was charged with an additional count of prostitution and related offenses.On March 16, Beers and Henderson were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Thomas Olsen via video.Both were committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $75,000 for both.According to Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department:On March 7, police responded to an armed robbery at the intersection of Country Court and Glade Drive in the Emerald Lakes community.At that time, police met with the male victim,who said that he responded to an ad posted on Craigslist and agreed to meet with a woman at that location.The victim said he agreed to pay the woman money for sexual favors.The victim drove to the location and met with the woman who placed the ad, at which time the woman waved the victim into a driveway and then got into his vehicle.A small gray vehicle pulled in behind the victim's vehicle and blocked it, at which point a man exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victim and asked what he was doing with this girl.The man then robbed the victim, taking at least $150 from him.While this was happening, the woman got out of the victim's car and got into the gray vehicle.On March 15, the Monroe County District Attorney's Office conducted a prostitution sting in Stroudsburg, at which time the woman who placed the Craigslist ad was identified as Beers.Beers arranged to meet an undercover officer in Stroudsburg for the purpose of prostitution.Beers arrived in a small gray vehicle operated by a man later identified as Henderson.Beers was arrested and interviewed, and Henderson was also interviewed.The investigation revealed that Beers and Henderson committed the offense on March 7.A firearm was recovered from Henderson's residence located in Emerald Lakes community near the location of the offense.Beers and Henderson were arrested without incident, and temporarily committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, awaiting arraignment.
