Two Carbon County residents entered guilty pleas to drug counts on Tuesday in the county court.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the pleas.Tammi Lynne Richardson, 41, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Oct. 8, 2015, by Lehighton police after a vehicle stop in the parking lot of the Garden of Gypsy Hill Apartments. Police stopped her because they knew her license was under suspension. The drug paraphernalia was found in her purse.Richardson told Nanovic she had a drug addiction problem and was addressing it by getting counseling. Richardson is currently serving a one-year probation sentence on another drug count.Nanovic said, "Less than a month after the first drug count you were arrested again."Nanovic placed her on probation for a year, consecutive to her current sentence, and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Christopher Jon Schnell Jr., 19, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on May 22, 2015, by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop along Route 443 in Mahoning Township.Schnell is currently in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on a drug charge and is facing sentencing on another charge.Nanovic imposed a fine of $500.Both defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000. Richardson must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.
