A Carbon County teen entered a guilty plea in the county court of Thursday to one count of corruption of a minor, as a felony three.

Christopher Jon Schnell Jr., 19, of Lehighton, was charged by Lehighton police with having a then 13-year-old girl perform a sex act on him in a home in the borough on Dec. 29, 2015.Schnell told Judge Steven R. Serfass that when the girl began to perform the sex act he realized it was wrong and had her stop. He said the entire incident only took a minute or less.Serfass said the charge falls under the provisions of Megan's Law. Schnell will have to be evaluated by the state sexual assessment board to determine if he is a violent sexual predator.If it is determined that he is, then would have to register for life as a sexual offender. If the board finds he is not, then he must register for 15 years.Serfass said sentencing will occur after the assessment is completed.
