Schuylkill county entrepreneur Joseph William Zaprazny was seriously injured Friday afternoon when involved in an industrial accident on his mining operation just east of Palo Alto.

Zaprazny, best known for his Joe's Auto Parts operation along Route 895 in East Brunswick Township, was operating a large backhow at the time.

Reports are a hydraulic line broke screwing hot hydraulic oil over the engine and possibly the victim. Zaprazny jumped from the machinery, landing approximately 28 feet down an embankment.

Zaprazny was flown from the scene to the Lehigh Valley Hospital Trauma Center suffering head and back injuries as well as burns. The hospital reports Zaprazny in critical condition.
