A new series of GriefShare support sessions begins March 16 in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 223 E. Broad St. The 13 weeks of sessions are biblically based and nondenominational, designed to help those suffering the loss of a loved one.GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.The level of participation is entirely up to each person, and you don't have to attend all 13 sessions. Groups are designed so that you can begin attending on any week and meet with others in a similar situation.Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. There is a fee for optional materials.For more information, or to register, call 570-668-2520. growthgroups@bethanyec.org.Rush-Ryan seniorsThe Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met Feb. 23 at the Ryan Township Fire Company in Barnesville with 35 members in attendance. The business session was conducted by President Eleanor Schmerfeld.Ruthann Feane offered the invocation "On a Winter Morning." Paul Randig and Rosetta Folk were added to the sick list. Eleanor Schmerfeld and Norma Lee Burke were offered birthday wishes, and Bill and Nancy Godanis were honored for celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary.A number of upcoming events were discussed, including a March 15 trip to the Hollywood Casino; May 5 trip to Penn's Peak for Branson fever; and a June 8 trip to Knoebel's Amusement Resort.The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the fire company. The next meeting will be held March 8. Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.Soup socialThe next monthly community soup social at Trinity United Church of Christ will be held Saturday.
