A Luzerne County woman who was speeding at over 100 mph while drunk with her young son in the vehicle entered a guilty plea on Tuesday in Carbon County court.

Jelena Lavinja Woodham, 30, of Hazleton, pleaded to one count each of driving under the influence, driving while license suspended-DUI related and endangering the welfare of a child.She was arrested by state police at Fern Ridge on Aug. 16, 2015, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township. Troopers clocked her going 110 mph in a 65 zone and made a traffic stop. At the stop troopers determined she was under the influence of alcohol. In the vehicle with her was her then 8-year-old son. A blood test showed 0.22 BAC.Matika accepted the pleas but deferred sentencing so Woodham could obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for placement in the Intermediate Punishment Program - house arrest.
