Two people trying to have Rep. Doyle Heffley's challenger removed from the ballot will have their date in court next week.

Bryan Price of Jim Thorpe and Michael Spairana Jr. of Palmerton say that Neil Makhija, a Carbon County native, does not meet residency qualifications because of time he spent at Harvard University pursuing a law degree.The case, filed last month, is set to be heard in an appeals court in Harrisburg at 9:30 a.m. March 11.Makhija, in a press release on Tuesday, said he was interested in getting past the 'nuisance' lawsuit and continuing his campaign.He said that while the plaintiffs in the suit are Carbon County Democrats, the attorney representing them is actually Heffley's in-house counsel.Laurence Tabas is general counsel for the Pennsylvania state Republican committee.Makhija is represented by Cliff Levine, who in the past has represented the state's Democrat party committee.- Chris Reber
