State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes on Saturday along Schuylkill County roads.
A one-vehicle crash was reported at 11:04 a.m. along Route 61 in Blythe Township. Troopers said Sanije Sylaj, 45, of Frackville, was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla southbound in the left lane when she lost control while negotiating a curve. The car struck the guardrail on the east berm with the front end. After impact, the car came to rest just south of the point of impact facing south.Sylaj and a 17-year-old male passenger were not injured. The car had to be towed from the scene.Sylaj was cited for the crash, troopers said.The second crash occurred at 2:43 p.m. along Route 924 (Gold Star Highway), in Gilberton. Troopers said Kurtiss McKee, 35, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2005 Hyundai Elantra northbound in the right lane when he failed to negotiate a slight left curve. The car went onto the east shoulder and struck an embankment. After impact the car then overturned through the northbound lanes and came to rest on the concrete median facing east.McKee and two passengers, two girls ages 9 and 7, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville by Shenandoah ambulance.McKee was cited for the crash.
