A woman was injured Sunday morning when involved in a crash along Owl Creek Road in Tamaqua.

The crash occurred about 10:30 a.m. as she was traveling west.

According to reports on the scene her car drifted to the left and went over the lawn of a home before hitting utility pole.

The woman was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Tamaqua Rescue Squad. The victim was treated at the scene for head injuries by Lehighton paramedics then transported to an area trauma center.

Tamaqua police are investigating the incident. The car was towed from the scene by Hope's Towing.
