FEBRUARY 25, 1977Ronald M. Esrang of Jim Thorpe, whose career with the U.S. Postal Service began Dec. 6, 1956, has been informed of his appointment as postmaster in that community.The 44-year-old former minor league baseball second baseman will officially assume his new duties on Feb. 26, having been promoted by the Wilkes-Barre Sectional Center's Personnel Department.He succeeds Gerald L. Haggerty, also of that community, who retired Oct. 22, 1976.Esrang and his wife, the former Phyllis Melber, live at 36 Pine Ave. with their daughter Debra. He is a 1950 graduate of Mauch Chunk High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
