Weatherly is saving its snow days until spring.

The school board voted to save all snow days for the end of the school calendar year."We will not use Friday as a makeup day. Teachers and students will have off," said Superintendent Thomas McLaughlin.The cafeteria purchased new refrigerated merchandisers for the school, costing a total of $2,879, from the cafeteria fund.Winter sports have come to a conclusion for the district, except for the varsity girls basketball team who have made it to playoffs."I think it's the first time in 10 years," said board member Corey Gerhart.A tour of the Carbon Career & Technical Institute will be arranged this month for any student in eighth grade who shows interest and signs up for the trip. According to elementary/middle school Principal Sandra Slavick there are an estimated 10 spaces available, with 14 showing interest.Students of the month were named during the meeting. Kayla Jones was named for sixth grade, Tanya McCroy for seventh and Kayla Deppen for eighth grade.
