Victims of various crimes now have one other resource available to them in Carbon.

Tammy Sue Neff, counselor advocate at the Victims Resource Center, announced during the Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board meetingrecently, that the Victims Resource Center, which provides support to victims of sexual assault, have expanded their services to encompass victims of all types of crimes except domestic violence, which are handled by the Domestic Violence Service Center.She said that homicide survivors, victims of simple assault or burglary and others can now be referred to the center for help."We will help them navigate the legal system and provide the support they need," she said.The Victims Resource Center offers a 24-hour hotline to anyone in need of help; as well as information about the criminal justice system; advocacy to victims' rights; accompaniment to hospitals, police stations, and court proceedings; assistance to filing for victims compensation; counseling; emotional support and support groups; and prevention education programs for the community.
