Lehigh Valley Physician Group Family Medicinewill conduct free health screenings from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the LVPG Family Medicine office, 241 Claremont Ave. (Route 309), Hometown.

The event is open to the public, and will include free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, balance, cholesterol and pulse oximetry.Participants will have the opportunity to meet adult care nurse practitioner Jennifer Yourey, CRNP, Hometown's newest health care provider.A health care professional for 15 years, Yourey is a graduate of the registered nurse program at Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing who received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Alvernia College.In 2011, Yourey graduated from South University as an adult nurse practitioner.Participants can also enroll in the health portal, MyLVHN Hazleton. Those who have received care at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton, the Health & Wellness Center at Hazleton, or any of the LVPG - Hazleton medical practices can now access their health records, get prescriptions refilled, communicate with their doctor's office and schedule appointments through the health portal.New appointments are being accepted.
