Hundreds turned out on Valley Road just outside of Tamaqua on Saturday and Sunday for old-fashioned, horse-drawn sleigh rides along with horse-pulled "magic carpet" rides for kids. The special event, hosted by Leiby's Carriage Service, Lewistown Valley, was offered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The rides are weather dependent, and with warmer temperatures coming up this week, organizers aren't sure if the snowpack will be adequate for next weekend.
