Ambulance crews are headed to east Lizard Creek Road, near Friendship Road in East Penn Township, where a child riding a bicycle was struck by a car at about 12 p.m. The child appears to have a head injury, but is conscious, according to a Carbon County Communications Center dispatcher.

A young male was operating the car accompanied by a female. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a trauma center.The Times News will publish updates as new information comes in.
