Celebrates 95 years

Elmer Soule, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating his 95th birthday.

Born on a farm in Eureka Township, Michigan, on Jan. 26, 1921, he was one of nine children.He served in the Army during World War II. After being discharged in 1946, he married his wife, Frances, who died in 2004. He has two daughters and two grandsons.He lived and worked in Greenville, Michigan, until his 91st year, at which time he moved to Pennsylvania to live with his eldest daughter. During the years in Greenville, he was employed with Gibson Refrigerator until retiring at age 62.Among his many interests were hunting, fishing and looking for mushrooms during the spring. He was an avid golfer and bowler for many years.Some of his best memories include going to the Eiffel Tower and visiting Italy and seeing Vatican City. He loves dogs and still enjoys playing with JoJo and Bosley, two rescue dogs who routinely visit him at Heritage Hill.
