The Borough of Lehighton's workforce was commended at Monday's borough council meeting for their cleanup efforts during this past weekend's snowstorm.

Borough manager Nicole Beckett lauded the Public Works and police departments for what she referred to as a "job well done."Police Chief Brian Biechy also offered hefty praise."Public Works was phenomenal the last couple of days," Biechy said.Borough Mayor Tom Mase said he wanted to offer a job well done to the police department and road crew during the snowstorm.Council President Grant Hunsicker was the next to offer his support."I'd like to recognize the public works people, and everybody who was out there working," Hunsicker said. "They did a great job."Councilman Joe Flickinger said the department did a "fantastic job all week long."Councilman Scott Rehrig, who participated via Skype, said the police department and Public Works did a good job.Councilwoman Lisa Perry said workers did a great job clearing borough streets.Councilman Jared McEvoy thanked workers for keeping everyone safe during the snowstorm.
