The Panthers, coached by Johnny Harkins, hit eight free throws in the fourth quarter, four by Mike Baran, to hold off their opponent and finish the contest outscoring the Olympians 17-6 at the line. Mike Karnish contributes 14 points to the victory while Frank Bydlon chips in with nine. For Thorpe, Don Deemer ends with a team-high 19 points.
